BACKGROUND Julie Laslett, a teacher and Deputy Head first started working with Caroline Webster, actress and director in 1998. Following a successful run of workshops, Julie and Caroline secured funding from the Isle of Man Government to set up a production and training facility, which became known as the Manx Multimedia Centre. The purpose of the Centre was to train young people in televsion and multimedia production. The ethos of the MMC was very much 'training on production' and each year the trainees worked alongside professional practitioners on a film drama, written and produced by Julie and Caroline. When the MMC came to a close in 2005 Julie and Caroline acquired the rights to the films and set up Dramatic Media. The company relocated to the UK and in September 2006 Gillian Nursaw-Smith joined Dramatic Media to take on the role of Business Director.
